Promo Code software is and always will be in constant development mode. It’s never considered a “finished” product. We have a lot of ideas on how to make the software easier to use and perform the way YOU want it to.
The newest enhancement is on the horizon and will be released soon. We’re testing internally right now. This is what we’re planning for our users:
As you may know, with PCS you can create limited or one-time promotion codes by selecting the expiration in your admin panel. This means you can control how many times the promotion code can be used. This is great for limited time offers or limited quantities, etc…
But what about the pages you actually display? You know…the page that your visitor is directed to after they enter the correct promotion code. What if you ALSO want the page (what we call the “success URL”) to be limited to one view per visit?
Many people are familiar with “One-Time-Offers”. This is similar but this is meant for pre-purchase….not post purchase. Most OTO’s are designed to show an offer after someone purchases. It’s an upsell of sort.
Well we are developing a way to integrate this type of offer (pre-purchase) with the use of promo codes. You will have the ability to show your offers or messages “once”…
With Promo Code Software, you already have the ability to show promotion codes only once per visitor but we really don’t have any control on how your site functions after your visitor lands on the success page. You may be trying to present a One-Time-Offer. We offer one time codes…but what about the visitor who bookmarks the page after they enter the promo code? What stops them from coming back later and getting the same deal?
Nothing.
That is, of course, unless you code your page to only be displayed once per visitor.
Most of the OTO (one time offer) scripts that are available won’t allow you to accomplish this with the use of promo codes. They are designed for use after purchase. So it won’t work will with your promotion code marketing.
Well, we’ve decided to create our own system to work with promo code marketing techniques. So if you have a promo code that you want to expire after the visitor uses it…well, you will soon be able to have that page and the message expire as well.
When will we be releasing this enhancement?
As soon as we finish testing…AND…
When we have at least 10 comments. On the blog. About this post…
We are looking for your feedback. Do you like it? Is it a good idea? Do you think you would use the feature? Are we spinning our wheels? What?
Let us know how were doing. Remember, if you want the enhancement a minimum of 10 comments must be posted. Even if we have all the internal tests done and we are ready to roll it out, unless we have 10 posts…it won’t be released.
